HISTORY

The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Celtic Society grew from discussion “with every jar that hit the bar” and recognized
needs to get our own Celtic fire fighter organization and celebrate all things Celtic. A membership drive began in early 2006 with the first meeting scheduled for February 23,
2006.

The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Celtic Society is an organization of active and retired Toronto Fire
Fighters and friends. The society shall be devoted to family, community, music, and all things Celtic. We will celebrate the life, culture, singing and playing of music, and general
good times associated with Canada, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England, and all other Celtic societies.
The Society will be governed by a constitution with elected officers. An annual fee of $20.00 (twenty)
per active or retired fire fighters and $30.00 (thirty) for non-fire fighters will be requested. The Society is a non-profit organization and monies raised will
go to the support of community charities, the pipe band, and general administration costs.
The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Celtic Society will focus on support of the pipe band, a Robbie Burns
dinner and dance, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, organized community events throughout the year, and potential discount jaunts to Celtic countries and other Celtic functions.
